Invitation to Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine 2017

Dear colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to announce the VIIIth edition of Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine 2017 which is dedicated to my friend Prof. Bo Sun, MD, PhD, Shanghai, one of the leading Asian scientists in neonatology.
20 years ago, the first edition of Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine was launched in Tübingen, Germany, and subsequent symposia took place in Würzburg, Germany in three years’ intervals. The aim of this academic series is to bring together leading neonatologists, scientists and practicing clinicians in neonatal medicine from all parts of the world to discuss and define the current status of knowledge in the light of most recent achievements in basic science and clinical research. Besides interactive workshops on highly relevant clinical issues in neonatology, the symposium will cover burning topics in state-of- the-art lectures and plenary discussions.
In 2014, delegates from 65 nations enjoyed the exceptionally high quality of the scientific and clinical presentations and the unique opportunity to discuss relevant topics with members of the faculty. As in the past, young investigators and all registered neonatologists will have the opportunity to present own scientific data at guided poster sessions.
I am most grateful to all speakers and chairmen – internationally highly respected and distinguished clinicians and scientists in the field – for coming to Würzburg and, last but not least, the sponsors of Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine 2017; without their help it would have been impossible to invite such a prominent faculty and to offer considerably reduced registration fees for participants from low- and middle income countries.
I hope you can join us at another “Recent Advances in Neonatal Medicine”, and I am looking forward to welcome you to Würzburg, October 2017.

With best regards,

Christian P. Speer
